It was a day full of vigour and zest for St Aloysius PU College as they celebrated the Musical Day 2014 on 15th September in the Loyola Hall. The formal programme began at 9.00am with the invocation to god followed by the spellbinding welcome dance by students. The coordinator of the programme Mrs Veena Lobo welcomed the gathering. Mr Ivan D'Souza, MLC, the guest of honour, shared his college days’ memories and highlighted the importance of music. Mr Joachim Louis Pinto, President, Mandd Sobhann urged the students to utilize their potentials during College Days. Speaking during the occasion The Principal, Rev Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ said that our college gives equal importance to both academics and extra-curricular and also awarded the toppers of the II Class test with prizes. The President of the function Rev Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions in his presidential remarks applauded the contribution of several Aloysians to the society. He also entertained the gathering with a melodious rendition of the song ’I have Dream’. The guest of honour and the chief guest were felicitated by the Principal and the Rector. During this occasion the bi-annual news letter of our College ‘The Aloysian’ was released by the guest of honour Mr Ivan D’Souza. Miss Amanda Rodrigues, co-cooordinator proposed the Vote of Thanks. The other dignitaries who were present on the dais were Rev Fr Eric Mathais SJ and the Vice Principal Mrs Rekha K Alva. The programme was compeered by Ms Zihana of the II PUC. The entire day was devoted to music and dance from the students. The day ended with a mass baila dance which was like an icing on the cake.
